Summer Solstice Purification Lodge & Potluck - June 20th @ 6pm.
It’s a rare treat that I’m home for the Solstice. I’m usually in Arizona at our annual SunDance ceremony, but this year I needed to stay home and get the full firefly and summer gardening experience. Many of us are bone tired by the time we hit the bed. It’s hard these days to actually slow down, be with the season, and really enjoy each other’s company. I invite you to celebrate this longest day and go slowly into the night with me where all we have to do is cleanse, release, and be rejuvenated… The best times of our lives are often when we stop ‘doing” and enjoy the sweetness of life!
Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere is the astronomical start of summer, featuring the year's longest day and shortest night. This is a sacred ceremony that is open to all people that desire to connect with the elements, the worlds of Grandmother Earth, to pray (for self, life and others), to purify (emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually), and who choose to grow and evolve as humans. The alchemy of this ceremony creates a safe space for us to let go of what no longer serves us and connect with Spirit to receive guidance and healing. July 10-12 FREE EVENT! Juice Fast & Purification Lodge (Maria). Get a boost from the group dynamic to change food habits. Juice cleanses are shown to heal medical conditions and reduce the need for pharmaceuticals to fix our symptoms. A cleanse can bring greater clarity and increase our will to incorporate healthier eating habits. When we make changes with the support of others it is much easier than starting something on our own. Participants will be provided a list of suggested fruits and vegetable to bring. Lodging for the weekend is extra and supports the lodge. See available beds and rooms here: LODGING
The weekend will end with Maria Night Eyes pouring a Sweet Medicine SunDance purification lodge on Sunday morning to ceremonially integrate our work with the guidance of Spirit. RSVP Kelly for the weekend or Maria to attend the lodge only.
Eagle Dance has a new date! August 28-30 Our personal and collective prayers are danced to the center tree. The “tree of life” acts as an antenna to spirit as we pray for guidance from the Universe in the coming year. Drummer singers maintain the heartbeat on a pow-wow drum during the entire dance and maintain the energy for us as we dance back and forth to the center tree. Carol Anne has ribbon pins for sale and is happy to help folks with how to make a shield and search for their regalia!
Women’s Appalachian Broomcraft Workshop September 24-27. We welcome back our facilitator, Nam Joti Kaur Khalsa. Brooms are a symbol of protection and power throughout time and place; especially amongst women. Join us for a broom making workshop where we will gather as a Circle of Women to weave both a hand whisk and a full sized handled broom. Our time will be spent in ceremony, ritual and storytelling like so many women who came before. Cost and details forthcoming… To rsvp contact Kelly.
