JUICE FAST & PURIFICATION LODGE RETREAT

FREE EVENT! Get a boost from the group dynamic to change food habits. Juice cleanses are shown to heal medical conditions and reduce the need for pharmaceuticals to fix our symptoms. A cleanse can bring greater clarity and increase our will to incorporate healthier eating habits. When we make changes with the support of others it is much easier than starting something on our own. The weekend will end with a Sweet Medicine SunDance purification lodge on Sunday morning to ceremonially integrate our work with the guidance of Spirit.

This is a FREE EVENT though you will need to bring gifts for the fire crew and Dance Chief. Maria Night Eyes will be our guest Dance Chief! You are encouraged to book 2 nights of LODGING unless you are staying locally. Participants will be given a produce list to bring for communal juicing.

RSVP for additional lodging not included in the retreat package to Kelly@SpiritCanoeLodge.org

*There is never a charge for a purification lodge. Medicine gifts are encouraged to balance the energy.

EAGLE DANCE WEEKEND
Aug
28
to Aug 30

EAGLE DANCE WEEKEND

We are thrilled to offer our 5th Annual Eagle Dance!  Our personal and collective prayers are danced to the center tree.  The “tree of life” acts as an antenna to spirit as we pray for guidance from the Universe in the coming year.  Drummer singers maintain the heartbeat on a pow-wow drum during the entire dance and maintain the energy for us as we dance back and forth to the center tree.  The drum does not stop until we are complete! We will be fasting, and drinking water is optional and recommended.  The dance is a meditative/trance experience.  Dancing keeps us in our bodies and out of our head so we can receive “with care and with clarity” messages from spirit. The Dance allows prayers for manifesting a specific intent for self, the Collective, and others. We also pray to bring our beauty and purpose into the world around us. The people of Grandmother Earth need our prayers.  We have chosen to be alive in this special time and humanity is calling us to participate as we bridge the old world into the new one currently emerging.

Eagle Dance is an irreplaceable experience and well worth your careful preparation.  Our ceremonial land at Spirit Canoe Lodge has a lodge for teaching & cooking, communal lodging or camping, purification lodge, and Eagle Dance Arbor.

Your ceremony actually starts with your commitment and preparations for the Eagle Dance!  Many items are needed to be created and prepared in advance of the dance. Allow at least 2 weeks to prepare. Participants will be making a shield, special eagle whistle & plumes, a forked pole, and dance regalia, among other medicine and ceremonial items needed. New Eagle Dance participants must contact Kelly for preparation instructions. It is highly recommended to attend a craft weekend. Meet April 19 on zoom an orientation about how to prepare your regalia and medicine items. Contact Kelly if you need more support.

Participants arrive by 3pm or earlier, Friday August 28 to help prepare the arbor and save your dance space. Saturday we tentatively begin the dance at noon! The strength of our dance defines how long our dance is. Be prepared to dance for 8-12 hours. Sunday, after breakfast and a nap we will have a closing purification lodge optional to all dancers and dog soldiers. We then return the land and structures to a beauty state.

Contact Kelly for the complete Eagle Dance preparation list and lodging arrangements. If you plan to stay over Friday evening to Sunday add 25$ per night for a bed at the lodge. Camping is optional.

FEES: $125 or register by MAY 1 for early discount rate of $100

to Sep 27

WOMEN'S APPALACHIAN BROOMCRAFT RETREAT

Join us during the Full Corn Moon for our Appalachian Broomcraft Weaving Circle with Nam Joti Kaur Khalsa!

Brooms are a symbol of protection and power throughout time and place; especially amongst women. Join us for a broom making workshop where we will gather as a Circle of Women to weave both a hand whisk and a full sized handled broom. Our time will be spent in ceremony, ritual and storytelling like so many women who came before.

Kelly will pour a special Purification Lodge to activate our new brooms and whisks with intention, protection & magick. The brooms become a symbol of our commitment to sweep away that which does not serve us. When we “keep a clean house and womb” we are receptive to the good things coming our way! The lodge is optional and gifts for Kelly and the fire crew are exchanged.

MEAL TEAMS:  To keep costs down, we will share in the meal making.  Once you register, you will be assigned to a meal team list and connect with your teammates to choose what you would like to bring. You will have opportunity to share your food preferences and sensitivities on the meal team list. One evening may be spent in town at a restaurant together going dutch.

WHAT TO BRING: All broom-crafting materials will be provided. Bring your hands, your heart, and a bit of wonder! Please bring purification lodge attire, donations to cover firewood, and a few medicine gifts and tobacco for the purification lodge fire crew if you choose to participate in the optional purification lodge. *There is never a charge for the purification lodge ceremony.

REGISTRATION FEE: $375 or $345 Early Bird Rate before August 24 does not include lodging.

REGISTRATION DEPOSIT: $150 non-refundable deposit to hold your space and balance payment due before workshop begins with Kelly.

Join us for the last gathering of 2026 at Spirit Canoe Lodge! Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year and a time to slow down our pace. It’s been quite a year and we are all ready to be tucked into winter’s cozy introspective season and stop the external busyness. As nature pulls back we too are urged to pull our energy within. Time is precious and healing. When we align with the seasons, life makes more sense.

There is no charge for the ceremony.  Donations or an energy exchange for Kelly and the fire crew are a necessary part of participation.  RSVP to reserve your spot and receive the protocols that prepare you for this ceremony.

Shamanic Purification Lodges in the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path tradition are  a sacred ceremony open to all men and women that desire to connect with the elements, the worlds of Grandmother Earth, to pray (for self, life and others), to purify (emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually), and for those who choose to grow and evolve as humans.  The alchemy of this ceremony creates a safe space for us to let go of what no longer serves us and connect with Spirit to receive guidance and healing.  We come together that we can make a jump in our evolution on a personal and collective level.

FOREST SANCTUARY DAY: Reciprocity with Multiflora Rose

FOREST SANCTUARY DAY: Reciprocity with Multiflora Rose

Deepening our relationship with the forest through presence, caretaking, and wildcrafting…

This Spring Forest Sanctuary Day is a day of embodied ecology, spending time in a relaxing and timeless meditation with nature, and then learning about the ecosystem through both our intuitive and logical mind.

We'll begin the morning settling into deep presence with the forest and opening our senses through Forest Bathing guided by Becca, SCL's Forest Sanctuary Director. We’ll explore Multiflora Rose through our senses and introduce ourselves to this plant before breaking for lunch.

After lunch we’ll return to our learning about Multiflora Rose by learning about the ecology of invasive plants and also the medicine this flower provides. Depending on what opportunities the land provides on this day, we may spend a little time in caretaking the ecosystem by removing the small vines of Multiflora Rose (not labor-intensive, nor for very long) or harvesting flowers, if they haven’t yet passed. If the window for harvesting has passed, Facilitators Becca and Diana, will have flowers they collected earlier in the season. We'll use these flowers in our medicine, finishing the the afternoon by wildcrafting a rose tincture and a rose honey to take home.

Throughout the day we'll learn about the ecology of invasive and native plants and how we all have a role as stewards of the Earth Sanctuary.

*Please bring your own lunch.

*Recommended DONATION $15-$50

*Register with BECCA

SPRING COMMUNITY SUPPORT DAY
Mar
21
10:00 AM10:00

SPRING COMMUNITY SUPPORT DAY

When we give our time and energy to the people, places, and causes that matter to us, we spark the "gift economy"—the new world we are imagining together. In her book The Serviceberry, Robin Wall Kimmerer speaks to the ethic of reciprocity at the heart of this economy. The serviceberry tree symbolizes a system where wealth is defined by having enough to share, and where giving creates community rather than debt. In a world often defined by scarcity, we can each take small actions within our own spheres to steward the Earth and birth a new way forward.

In the spirit of gifting one another and Spirit Canoe Lodge, please join us for a day of community service. It is springtime and time to sow new seeds! We will be planting food and medicine, as well as rootlets and ramp bulbs in the forest. Tasks include prepping soil, planting starts, burning brush, adding soil to greenhouse beds, collecting stones for purification sweats, organizing mushroom logs, and general maintenance.

All volunteers will be provided with lunch and dinner. If you are joining us for the Spring Equinox Purification Lodge on Sunday, you are also welcome to stay overnight.

The Lodge has been a sanctuary for many travelers and seekers over the years and needs your support to help us grow. Our land and gardens have the potential to provide food and medicine to many people.  All who support our work here shall share in our abundance.  We look forward to spending this time together in service.

Kelly@SpiritCanoeLodge.org

Kelly will send out more information including a list of tools you might bring to those who join us this day in community.

WISE WOMEN'S WINTER RETREAT

WISE WOMEN'S WINTER RETREAT

Eris - Goddess of Chaos by Emily Balivet

Fully enter into the WOMB of WINTER by giving yourself a “special winter time-out”...This gathering is intended to hold sacred space for each other - to pay attention to the serious inner work we are longing to do but often resist. Working with CHAOS will be our theme for the weekend. We are asking that everyone attending join us by Friday evening in time to open the Circle at 7pm - to create the matrix that will hold an atmosphere of intimacy where nothing is held back.

We will examine our inner male/female, receptive/active balance, and how our relationship with chaos affects our presence within our relationships, priorities and choices. Do we choreograph our life in a way that we are manifesting our dreams, or are we consistently overdoing without accomplishing our goals?

Many of our activities will include: Sharing Circles, Qigong, Dance, and Ceremony.

An optional Sisterhood Purification Lodge will be part of our weekend to release unnecessary resentments and patterns in order to free up our energy and be open to attracting our present desires. Many women have a personal vision they are seeding in coming together...so perhaps this is an intent we each share. Women that come together with focused intent create magic!

Meal teams and food sharing will keep the cost affordable.

RETREAT COSTS:

$150 without lodging

Onsite lodging from $50-$100 for 2 nights on site with bed

Bring your own sleeping gear for $10/night

Additional nights can be booked.

Please bring donations to cover firewood, and a few gifts and tobacco for the purification lodge fire crew if you choose to participate. There is no charge for the purification lodge ceremony.

Contact me if you wish to pay another way.

More details will be given upon registration.

I look forward to the pleasure of your company,

Kelly

VISION QUEST CEREMONIAL WEEKEND

to Oct 5

VISION QUEST CEREMONIAL WEEKEND

This extended weekend is open to apprentices and non-apprentices. Night on the Mountain of Fear participants arrive Friday, Oct 3. Other ceremonialists arrive Thursday Oct 2. This intensive ceremony is open to all seekers as a way to gain maturity, self discipline, and return to your naturalness….. to learn how not be at the affect of situations, tyrants, negative internal dialogue, and social conditioning that often keep us running in the same old karmic patterns. The basic self wants to keep everything the same and live in the comfort of what is known...living life through subjective filters of projection or past experience. The higher self wants to make choices and decisions that bring about our potential, increased levels of consciousness, perception, and objectivity...risking the unknown for a better happier life...ceremony creates a shift in our perceptions that lead to new productive patterns enabling us to manifest the change and beauty we long for.
FEE: $225 payment includes our teaching fee, ceremonial items, and printed materials needed for the preparation of your ceremony 200$ + 25$ Friday night lodging.  If you want to stay over an extra night on Thursday or Sunday after the sweat, add 25$/night.  A medicine gift, plus tobacco or cigarette is given to the Dance Chief of your ceremony.  Tobacco holds your intent and represents your connection to spirit (smoke).  The medicine gift represents an exchange for what is given.  When giving and receiving are in balance abundance is bestowed on both parties. Note:  While our tradition does not “charge” for ceremony, generations before ours traded in horses, hardgoods, and labor.  If you are financially challenged Kelly offers work trades. REGISTER

FULL MOON SPIRIT PURIFICATION LODGE

This Lodge is on Sunday after the Spirit Dance.  Please RSVP (Kelly@spiritcanoelodge.org) if you are attending one or both ceremonies.  There will be a limit of 25 participants. Newcomers arrive at 11am

Sister Moon is an integral part of our life on Grandmother Earth.  The moon rotates around the earth.  Her face is lit by Grandfather Sun.  The earth’s shadow creates the moon phases in this magical rotation.  You could say she sees everything and knows everything as she witnesses our daily rotation.  Humanity is deeply impacted from this relationship.  Women’s fertility cycles align with her, optimal planting times have historically been practiced, and our planet’s water masses ebb and recede with her gravitational pull.  The full moon is the peak energy of the last 28/29 days of our life.  A lot has happened, a lot has been exposed, and as we look ahead…there is much to plan for.  Bring to our gathering what has been exposed within you this past month, this past season, and the willingness to continue on into the unknown with hope, faith, and trust.

Shamanic Purification Lodges in the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path are  a sacred ceremony open to all men and women that desire to connect with the elements, the worlds of Grandmother Earth, to pray (for self, life and others), to purify (emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually), and who choose to grow and evolve as humans.  The alchemy of this ceremony creates a safe space for us to let go of what no longer serves us and connect with Spirit to receive guidance and healing.  We come together that we can make a jump in our evolution on a personal and collective level.  There will be a potluck after the ceremony.

There is no charge for the ceremony.  Donations or energy exchange plus tobacco for Kelly and the fire crew are a necessary part of participation.  If you are new to our purification lodge, you must RSVP to receive the protocols that prepare you for this ceremony.  If you are new to this ceremony please arrive one hour earlier for a full orientation.

FULL MOON SPIRIT DANCE

Ceremonial Ecstatic Dance to Connect with Nature

Our ecstatic dance will be under the full moon of August @ 7pm. Dancing begins @ 8-11pm.  Together we honor Sister Moon, the Elements, and Worlds of Grandmother Earth, and how we as humans must come into greater alignment with them .  The dance is meant to be a prayerful, internal connection with ourselves and nature to gain greater insight and harmony.  As we develop a closer and caring relationship with nature, we find the solutions we seek are all around us in support!  In a world seemingly gone mad there is one thing we can do that will make a difference now….DANCE!  Camp or stay over for our Lodge on Sunday.

Matt Wasson will be our DJ for the dance.  He brings his AZUL musical expertise and creativity with a soulful beat to connect our spirits, make our feet move, and seduce our body to move without thinking.  Matt is tailoring a dance set to connect us with nature and the energies of the Full Moon.

Costumes Encouraged:  Please wear regalia with a nature theme!  We are mending our communication lines with the worlds of GME and honoring the plant, animal, mineral, and spirit world (ancestors).  Ideas include…weather & elemental spirits, animal totems, fairy and gnome realm, mythological creatures (dragon, mermaid, etc…)

Cost: 20-40$ sliding scale donation.  Donate your time to help prepare the arbor space and dance free!  Details about what to bring and dance location are sent out once you RSVP. This will be a substance free event.

VISION QUEST CEREMONIAL WEEKEND

to Jul 20

VISION QUEST CEREMONIAL WEEKEND

RESCHEDULED OCTOBER 3-5, 2025 - SEE THE CALENDAR.

This extended weekend is open to apprentices and non-apprentices. Night on the Mountain of Fear participants arrive Friday, October 3.
REGISTER

EAGLE DANCE AND PURIFICATION LODGE
May

to May 25

EAGLE DANCE AND PURIFICATION LODGE

We are thrilled to offer our 4th Annual Eagle Dance!

Gather with us on May 3 for a Medicine Making Day to prepare your items.

Participants arrive by 3pm or earlier, Friday May 23 to help prepare the arbor and save your dance space.

FEES: $125 or register by MAY 5 for early discount rate of $100

COMMUNITY GARDEN VOLUNTEER DAY

COMMUNITY GARDEN VOLUNTEER DAY

After Farmer Nathan created these beautiful growing beds with his expertise and a borrowed broad fork, we decided it will be worth the effort to expand the garden to feed ourselves and more of the SCL community (not the deer.) Our desire: Is the creation of a community garden in which all who lend a hand will share in our abundance. Our interdependence is part of what makes us stronger and knowing we can truly rely on one another when needed. April 6 we marked the space and dug post holes for the fencing. April 13 @ 10-4pm: We will be hanging the fence and gate. Let me know if you can lend a hand. I’ll be offering food to all on our work days.

RSVP Kelly@SpiritCanoeLodge.org for more info or directions here.

We look forward to being in community !

SPRING EQUINOX PURIFICATION LODGE BUILD WEEKEND

to Mar 23

SPRING EQUINOX PURIFICATION LODGE BUILD WEEKEND

Spring Equinox & Lodge Rebuilding Weekend: The Purification Lodge ceremonies have been the foundation of our community here, and attracts those who are seeking healing, growth, and like minded humans. Every 2 years our lodge needs to be rebuilt. It’s a community endeavor to remove the old structure, cut new saplings, dig holes for the lodge poles, re-paint the stepping stones, and prepare the tobacco ties. On Sunday we have a consecration purification ceremony for the community that has helped in it’s rebuilding. All those lending a hand over the weekend are welcome to stay over at no cost! RSVP Kelly

Shamanic Purification Lodges are a sacred ceremony that is open to all men and women that desire to connect with the elements, the worlds of Grandmother Earth, to pray (for self, life and others), to purify (emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually), and who choose to grow and evolve as humans. The alchemy of this ceremony creates a safe space for us to let go of what no longer serves us and connect with Spirit to receive guidance and healing.

The Spring Equinox is a time when the night and day are of equal length, the sun rises due East and sets due West.

A moment of balance, stillness, the anticipation of Resurrection, and dominance of light. Spring Rites are all about celebrating fertility becoming receptive to the seeding of life and light as our days become longer. For us this is a time to plant the seeds of our desired growth, maturity, new projects, dreams, inner balance of our Masculine/Feminine energy, and yes outrageous tomatoes....life is about the journey of what we plant through our experiences and harvest as wisdom. All that said, I LOVE Spring! It is always a hopeful and exciting season to let the external world reflect the internal.

I look forward to the pleasure of your company!

There is no charge for these ceremonies, however cash donations and medicine gifts for Kelly and the fire crew are requested to cover the costs and create balance for what you receive.

WISE WOMEN'S WINTER RETREAT

Wise Women’s Winter Gathering

Fully enter into the WOMB of WINTER by giving yourself a “special winter time-out”...This gathering is intended to hold sacred space for each other - to pay attention to the serious inner work we are longing to do but often resist. We are asking that everyone attending join us by Friday evening in time to open the Circle at 7pm - to create the matrix that will hold an atmosphere of intimacy where nothing is held back.

We will examine our inner male/female balance, and how our relationship with the men and women in our lives affects our inner balance.

Many of our activities will include: Sharing Circles, Qigong, Dance, and Ceremony.

A Sisterhood Purification Lodge will be part of our weekend to release unnecessary resentments and patterns in order to free up our energy and be open to attracting our present desires.

Bring your own sleeping gear or $10/night

Additional nights can be booked.

Please bring donations to cover firewood, and a few gifts and tobacco for the purification lodge fire crew if you choose to participate.

Contact me if you wish to pay another way.

More details will be given upon registration.

I look forward to the pleasure of your company,

Kelly

***A purification Lodge is optional at no additional cost. There is never a charge for ceremony. Gifts requested for Kelly & the fire crew. ***
